John Stuart Mill (1806-1872) was a leading figure in English classical liberalism during the 19th century. He was an important political philosopher, political economist, and politician who agitated for many reforms including the right of women to vote. His companion in this latter endeavour was Harriet Taylor (1807-1858). Liberty Fund is pleased to be republishing many of Mill's works.
