Sir Alan Walters (1927-2009)

Sir Alan Walters (1927-2009) was an academic economist who believed that strict monetary targets should be set by the state in order to curb inflation. He rose to prominance when he left Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore to join Prime Minsister Maraget Thatcher as her economic adviser in 1981. He was interviewed by John Blundell of the Institute for Economic Affairs in one of Liberty Fund's Intellectual Portrait Series in 2002.
